Working in fiber provides me with the opportunity to play with color and to incorporate a textural element into my work. I am attracted to irregular patterns and find inspiration from primitive textiles and patterns from nature and architecture, such as the close-up view of a bird's wing, reflections in water, rock structures, a bamboo fence or a stone wall. I work improvisationally, letting the fabrics and colors lead me as I work.
